then base of triangle =
(1)/(2) × 32 = 16 feet and hypotenuse = 20 feet

using Pythagoras' identity in the right triangle.

the square on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares on the other 2 sides, that is

h² + 16² = 20²

h² + 256 = 400 ( subtract 256 from both sides )

h² = 144 ( take square root of both sides )

the height h of the pyramid is 12 feet
