The word responsible refers to a person's ability to make decisions or complete tasks that positively serve oneself and others. We first need to be responsible for ourselves before we can be responsible for others. It does not necessarily matter how strong someone is, there is only so much of anything that a person can handle, especially responsibility. We are not responsible for how other people feel or react, but we are responsible for how we choose to voice ourselves and handle conflict.
In a family dynamic, things may be required of you. Every family member has responsibilities, some more than others, and in wide varieties. I would say my responsibility as sister, daughter, and youngest in the family is to be youthful; I would say I bring a sense of humor and completion to my family that is very much needed. I have been somewhat responsible for my mother my whole life, she is a paraplegic; making her wheelchair-bound and unable to use her arms, hands, legs, and feet. This is a responsibility I am grateful for.
Having a job is one of my harder responsibilities. Having a job is, ideally, finding work that shows and implements the skills, abilities, and experience you have. My job involves a lot of back and forth between various people. My occupational responsibilities are to make sure that the passing documents are correct, then order the items on the document and file as needed. A job can change the trajectory of how life turns out; therefore, making it one of the most important responsibilities.
I see personal responsibility as having control over yourself and your outcome. How you choose to react and what you choose to do is how you contribute to society. People are often put in a position where they can either inflict pain or provide help. I find that it is my responsibility to provide help when I can and try my best to put positive intent into everything I do. I will also strive to put myself in the best financial and emotional position possible, as I believe that it is my personal responsibility to see myself through.
