y=5x +21

1) Since the line passes from (6,9) through (5,4) and has a slope of 5.

the slope-intercept form is given by y=mx +b

\begin{gathered} m=\frac{y_2-y_1_{}}{x_2-x_1} \\ m=(4-9)/(5-6) \\ m=(-5)/(-1) \\ m=5 \end{gathered}

Since the slope is 5, we can write:

y=5x +b

Pluggin in (5,4)

4=5(5)+b

4=25+b

4-25=25-25+b

21=b

b= 21

3) Finally, the slope-intercept form of this linear equation is y=5x +21
