Journal Entry #1 - July 3, 1914
Since the assassination of the Archduke of Austria, tensions in Europe have been escalating. Every day, the newspapers report on the diplomatic tensions between Austria and Serbia, and I can't help but feel anxious about what's going to happen next. It's difficult to know who to believe - some newspapers say that war is imminent, while others claim that diplomatic negotiations will prevent any conflict. I just hope that things will calm down soon. I can't bear the thought of war breaking out and tearing our continent apart.
Journal Entry #2 - August 2, 1914
It's been over a month since the assassination of the Archduke, and my worst fears have come true. Europe is at war. I can hardly believe it - the headlines in the newspapers today declared that Germany has declared war on Russia. It's a nightmare come to life. I can hear the sound of marching troops in the distance, and the streets are filled with people rushing to stock up on food and supplies. It's hard to comprehend the scale of the conflict that we're facing, and I'm scared for what the future holds. I hope that our leaders can find a way to end this war soon, before any more lives are lost.
