What value of x makes this equation true? 3 - 6(5x + 0.5) = 3(8 - x) +3

You have to distribute the 6 in the equation 3-6(5x+0.5) which equals

3-30x-3.

And then you do the exact same thing with the other half.

you should get... 24-3x+3

then you combine them

3-30x-3=24-3x+3

next you combine just the numbers to get 30x+6=-3x+27

then you move the x on the left to the right and number on the right to the left.

-30x-3x=-33 27+6=33

then you get -33x=33

then divide by-33 to get the x by itself. Your answer is x= -1
