simplify


\begin{bmatrix}3\cdot (-8-3y)/(2)+y=2\end{bmatrix}
\begin{bmatrix}(-24-7y)/(2)=2\end{bmatrix}\\

isolate


x=(-8-3\left(-4\right))/(2)

and then u get x = 2

and y = 4
