Charles the 1st had some pretty nasty accusations against him.

Charles I was put on trial and convicted for high treason and other high crimes. The charges against him included, among others, the following: that he had conspired with others to levy war against Parliament, that he had tried to subvert the fundamental laws and liberties of the nation, and that he had caused the death and suffering of many of his subjects. The specific events leading to his trial and conviction were related to the English Civil War, in which Charles I had fought against Parliament and sought to establish absolute rule. Following his conviction, Charles I was sentenced to death and executed on January 30, 1649.
