Gavin is asked to supply juice for soccer teams during half time and he decides to make juice for players from a concentrate mix. The concentrate that Gavin bought is made in ratio 5:1 (water to concentrate). How many ml of concentrate must Gavin use to make 3L?

It is given that the ratio of water to concentrate is 5:1

Divide three litres of solution into 6 parts to get:


(3000)/(6)=500ml

Hence there is 500ml concentrate and 2500 ml of water in a 3 litre solution.
