The proportion of red M&M’s in a milk chocolate packet is approximately 13%. Suppose a package of M&M’s typically contains 52 M&M’s.

1. Find the following probabilities:
a) That 7 of the M&M’s are red.

b) That 15 of the M&M’s are red.

c) That half of the M&M’s are red.

2. What would you think if you received a bag with 10 red M&M’s?

1. a
2. I would think of it as a manufacturing mistake, if there is more or less of what said to be the amount of red M&M’s it must have been just a small mistake and had been fixed after you received the M&M’s package.

You’re welcome.
