Question: x/2 + 4x = 2
Answer: x = 4/9

First:
Multiple both sides by 2 to eliminate the fraction.
MAKE SURE YOU MULTIPLY ALL THE TERMS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE EQUATION BY 2. REMEMBER: WHAT YOU DO TO ONE SIDE, YOU HAVE TO DO TO THE OTHER.
This will result in x + 8x = 4

Second:
Combine like terms.
Combine x and 8x together which will result in 9x.
The new equation should be 9x = 4

Third:
Divide both side by 9
Your final answer should be x = 4/9

Answer:
x = 4/9
or
x = 0.44
