Let x be the number of true/flase questions Eric gets correct, since each correct answer gives him three points the total number of points he gets from this questions is:

Now let y be the number of multiple questions he answers correctly, we know that each of this questions gives him four points which means that the toal points he gets from this questions is:


4y

Adding the point he gets for each type of question we get the total points he gets:


3x+4y

Finally we know that he needs at least 93 points to get an A this means that the expression we found has to be greater or equal than 93; therefore, the inequality describing this situation is:


3x+4y\ge93
