Explanation:

Use the picture in its given 2-d to mark the unknown measures. Such as, the gray rectangle on top has a bottom that is also 20 and the left side is 15.

The small horizontal jutting out on the left mid-way down is 5cm same as the 5cm just below.

When you mentally "unfold" the shape to its full rectangular shape and size, all the lengths are marked.

Use:

Area=length×width

and,

Perimeter

=L + w + L + w

There are lots of perimeter formulas, for perimeter, you just add up all the sides all the way around the shape.
