Comparing my own culture to the culture of Switzerland, there are some striking differences. In Switzerland, family is a very important part of life and extended family members often live together in the same house. This is in stark contrast to my own culture in the United States, where extended family members tend to live separately and family relationships are not as close. Another difference is the concept of personal space. In Switzerland, people are more comfortable standing closer together than Americans, who tend to prefer more personal space. Additionally, Swiss culture is known for its punctuality and efficiency, while American culture often values creativity and doing things “outside the box.” These are just a few examples of the differences between my culture and the culture of Switzerland.
