The temperature of the water was

originally 16.0°C. The specific heat of
water is approximately 4.18 J/g °C.
What is the change in thermal energy?
Assume the mass of the water is 1.00
kg. (Show your work!)

Answer: 4182 J/kg°C

Explanation: molar heat capacity is J/mole C not J/gC. 4.18 J/gC x (18.0 g / mole) = 75.2 J/moleC
