A spinner with repeated colors numbered from 1 to 8 is shown. Sections 1 and 8 are purple. Sections 2 and 3 are yellow. Sections 4, 5, and 6 are blue. Section 7 is red. Determine the theoretical probability of the spinner not landing on yellow, P(not yellow).

Step-by-step explanation: Well there are 2 section colored purple, 2 sections yellow, 3 sections are blue, and 1 section is red.

First lets find the number of favorable outcomes, which would be outcomes with out yellow. 6 out of 8 sections do not have yellow therefore the amount of favorable outcomes is 6.

Now for the total amount of outcomes which is 8.

If we input those numbers in this formula
(Favorable Outcomes)/(Total Outcomes) so
(6)/(8) we get 0.75 or
(3)/(4).
