and produces 40 more each week. Factory B
has produced 70 pairs of shoes and produces

will it be before Factory B produces as many
pairs of shoes (s) as Factory A?
s = 40w + 120
s = 50w + 70

Let factory B produce the same amount of shoes as factory A in w weeks.

then,

70+50w = 120+40w

50w - 40w = 120 - 70

10w = 50

w = 50/10

w = 5

Therefore, in 5 weeks factory B will produce the same amount of shoes as factory A will produce in 5 weeks time.
