a)what percentage of the people smoke:

To find this we use the next formula:

% people who smoke = (number of people who smoke/total of people surveyed) *100

Where:

Number of people who smoke = 6+18 = 24

Total of people surveyed = 6+18+16+60 = 100

Replacing on the formula:

% people who smoke = (24/100)*100

Then:

% people who smoke = 24%

b)What percentage of the people do not exercise regularly:

We need to use the next formula:

% people who do not exercise regularly = ( number of people who do not exercise regularly/ total of people surveyed) * 100

Where:

Number of people who do not exercise regularly = 18 + 60 = 78

Replacing on the formula:

% people who do not exercise regularly = ( 78/100)*100

% people who do not exercise regularly = 78%
