Read the excerpt below from "A Pair of Silk Stockings." Which form of irony are we

seeing?
Background: Mrs. Sommers has come upon $15 unexpectedly. She is not a rich woman, and
this is quite the sum of money for her. She has just purchased a very out-of-character pair of
expensive stockings (like hose) and has chosen to take herself out to lunch. She'd skipped
lunch without realizing.
When she entered her appearance created no surprise, no consternation, as she had half
feared it might. She seated herself at a small table alone, and an attentive waiter at once
approached to take her order. She did not want a profusion; she craved a nice and tasty
bite-a half dozen blue-points, a plump chop with cress, a something sweet-a crème-
frappée, for instance; a glass of Rhine wine, and after all a small cup of black coffee.
O dramatic irony
O verbal irony
O situational irony
O There is no irony in this excerpt.
