Answer:

y = x + 1

Explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

given

x - y = 5 ( subtract x from both sides )

- y = - x + 5 ( multiply through by - 1 )

y = x - 5 ← in slope- intercept form

with slope m = 1

• Parallel lines have equal slopes , then

y = x + c ← is the partial equation

to find c substitute (- 7, - 6 ) into the partial equation

- 6 = - 7 + c ( add 7 to both sides )

1 = c

y = x + 1 ← equation of parallel line
