During the time in which the Roman empire was a powerhouse they did something that wasnt very common. they allowed people to practice their own religions, This means that without having to fear rebellion from religious groups they could befriend them and help each other grow and thrive. since the religious freedom was granted to annexed countries and groups of people they felt more willing to work with the empire and sometimes it was demanded to work for the Roman's in order to keep religous freedom. this created a stable country with a stable goverment and this is one of the key factors as to why Rome lasted so long.
