Can someone tell me step by step how to solve this.

So, the formula is f(x) = 1.5(2)^x,
1.5 being the initial value, 2 being the base.

This is the equation I was confused on how to solve -

f(-1)=1.5(2)^-1

I know the answer is 0.75 but finding how to get to that answer is what I am struggling with.

(If you aren’t familiar, it’s exponential functions, specifically growth in this case.)

Answer:

f(-1) = 0.75

Explanation:

f(x)=1.5(2)^x\\f(-1)=1.5(2)^(-1)\\f(-1)=1.5((1)/(2))\\f(-1)=0.75

Remember to write
2^(-1) as
(1)/(2), that was probably where you were stuck!
