given y+2x-4=0

y= - 2x +4 there for m1= -2

  1. if m1 and m2 are perpendicular their product gonna be -1
  • m1.m2= -1

m2= -1/m1 => -1/-2

=1/2

  • p(4,-1)
  • y - y1 = m( x - x1 )

y - (-1) = 1/2 ( x - 4 )

y + 1 = ( 1/2 )x - 2

y = ( 1/2 )x - 1 or 2y = x - 2
