Poor farming methods, a drought, and economic hardship during the Great Depression all contributed to the Dust Bowl.
The Dust Bowl brought forth extreme hardship and misery for the people who lived through it. Crops were destroyed by the drought and dust storms, which also made it difficult for farmers to make a living. Homes, farm machinery, and entire villages would frequently be buried in a thick coating of dust during these large dust storms because the soil was so dry and desolate. Families found it challenging to support themselves in terms of food and housing as a result. As many battled to find employment and make ends meet, the Great Depression only made things worse. The conditions of the Dust Bowl made many families flee their homes, moving to other parts of the country.
