To start off, let's identify the signs being used:

|| = parallel

≅ = congruent (identical in shape and size)

When I solved this, I broke this down into two parts. Parallel and congruent.

Parallel:

Pick out the parallel lines. These should be lines that would never cross the lines that are given. (Often, they are marked with ||).

Perpendicular:
As previously stated, congruent lines are lines that are identical in shape and size. For me, it helps to try to mentally form a rectangle using the line given. Since you know that the length of the sides of rectangles are fairly uniform ( l = l, w = w), you can easily pick out other congruent lines.
