What term refers to a savory liquid with a water base that has been simmered with
bones, meat, veggies, and seasoning to create a lovely soup for sipping or to be
used to build up a thicker soup, stew, or sauce like gravy?

Answer:

Broth

Step-by-step explanation:

You can put it in pretty much anything and it is created by simmering vegetables, meats, seasonings, and bones.

HELPFUL FUN FACT:

While broth tastes good on it's own, adding some sort of starch (usually corn starch) serves to thicken up the broth. So if you want to make gravy, make sure you add small increments of a powdered starch (usually diluted in water first to prevent lumps). If you do though, make sure you stir a lot because starch thickens up broth nicely but it's kinda nasty if you bite down on a starch clump.
