Answer:

x = 5(5) + 5;
x = 30 + 5 = 35

Explanation:

Let the 1st number be x and the second number y.

1st equation:
x = 5y + 5

2nd equation:
(x + y) + 2 = 37

Taking the 2nd equation:
(x + y) = 35.

Substitute the value of X (from 1st equation into the 2nd): Since x = ( 5y + 5)

(5y + 5) + y =35

6y + 5 = 35

6y = 30

y = 5

x = 5(5) + 5;
x = 30 + 5 = 35

Smaller number 5 and larger number 30
