The equation y = -(x+6) (x-3) and y= -(x-(6)) (x-3) are equivalent. How can both x-intercepts be determined if the equation y= -(x+6) (x-3) is givin?

The x axis intercepts will be the same as before -6 and +3

the minus sign is the same as (-1) (x+6)(x-3) <==== the minus sign just flips the parabola upside down...the zeroes remain the same -6 and + 3

Here is another way to look at it...to find the zeroes equate to 0

(-1) (x+6)(x-3) = 0 shows either x + 6 = 0 (meaning x = -6)

or x-3 = 0 ( meaning x = +3)
