A winter sports pass at Wood Middle School costs $18. A student without a pass must pay

$1.90 for each event. How many sports events would a student have to attend to make the pass a
better deal?

You start by dividing the pass cost by the cost per event so:

18/1.90= 9.473684210526316

Then because you want to see how many events so that the pass is a better deal you need to have more than 9.47… which the closes whole number is 10 since you can’t get entry to a part of an event.
