Write an equation of the line parallel to Y=2/3x + 5/6 that passes through the point (-1,1)

the answer is 2/3x + 5/3

when looking for an equation parallel , the slope will always be the same to ensure they never cross. just the constant will change

knowing this you could plug in -1 for x in 2/3x , you would get -2/3. to get this to make the y=1, you would have to add 2/3 to get 0, then just add one or 3/3 (same thing)

so in reality you added 5/3 to get your y to equal 1

so your answer is 2/3x+5/3 =y
