Answer:

Explanation:

Say, in relation 3/4 gal of paint : 1/5 of wall. The decimal equivalent is 0.75 : 0.2. With this info., you can multiply 0.2 to get 1 which is equivalent to 1/5 X 5 to get 5/5. What you do to one side, you do to the other, so 0.75 X 5, which gives you 3.75 gal of paint. Round it to 4. So the final answer is 4 gal of paint.

3/4 : 1/5 -> 0.75 : 0.2 -> 5 x 0.75 : 0.2 x 5 -> 5 x 3/4 : 1/5 x 5

15/4 : 5/5 -> 3.75 : 1 = about 4 gals of paint b/c you can't just buy 3.75 gals of paint.
