Hi! So, the correct equation for finding out the starting number for Brooke’s candy bars would be
c-(1/2)c-2=3
Because c is the number of candy bars total, you would subtract the ones she gave to her friends (1/2 of the number of candy bars and 2)
Then, you would solve that equation which would look like this:
c-(1/2)c-2=3
c-(1/2)c=5
1/2c=5
c=10
So she started with 10 candy bars
To prove that: 10-5-2=3
What the person did wrong was- I’ll look at the question again I’ll send the answer separately
