2. if the man started from 0,0 point & walks 120° meaning he's walking towards the northwest, so he'll be 400m west and 400√3 = 693m north from his starting point, because 120° -90° = 30° you are basically solving a problem of 3 sides length of a special straight triangle with an angle of 30. this type of triangle has a property of shorter side = 1/2 of the long side. 2nd shorter side = √3/2 of the long side. this, you should memorize. which will make lots of problems a piece of cake. good luck
