We have the equation:


t+(1)/(4) = (27)/(12)

And the main thing here is if we do one thing to an equation we do it to both sides. So if we subtract 1/4 from one side, we do it to both sides. If we subtract 1/4 from the left side it cancels out with the 1/4 leaving us just with the "t" unknown, giving us a solution:


t=(27)/(12) - (1)/(4)

Now from here we can just multiply the 1/4 by 3/3 so we get the same denominator and combine them into one fraction:


t=(27)/(12) - (3)/(12)

Now subtract the numerators:


t=(24)/(12)

Simplify:

t=2
