This is a rubric for a writing assignment in which the goal is to organize an argumentative essay. The prompt is not provided, so it is up to the student to choose one. The rubric provides a criteria for evaluating the student's work in four sections: the prompt and claim, the first body paragraph (support for claim), the second body paragraph (support for claim), and the third body paragraph (counterclaim).

In each section, the rubric evaluates the student's work on the basis of several factors, including the clarity and effectiveness of their writing, the use of evidence from the provided text set, the explanation of how their evidence connects to their argument, and the proper citation of their sources. Points are awarded based on the extent to which the student meets these criteria, with higher points indicating a more well-organized and effective argument.
