"What are you reading?" asked Niamh as she walked into the living room. Her younger brother Palvit hurried to close his book before she could see the cover.

"Uh, nothing," Palvit stuttered. His sister grabbed the book out of his hands and began laughing.
"You are studying geometry for next semester? That is !" Niamh laughed.
"I am not a ," her brother replied, his face bright red. "I have a difficult time with math, and I want to get a head start on next semester. Aren't there any subjects in school that you struggle with?"
"I am the smartest person in my school," scoffed Niamh. She frowned as she tried to boot up her laptop computer. "Why won't this computer work?" Palvit laughed as his sister turned her laptop upside down and began shaking it violently.
"That will never work," he said. "It's not an Etch-a-Sketch; it's a complicated piece of machinery. Would you like me to fix your problem?"
"You? What do you know about computers?" asked Niamh. Palvit ignored her taunt as he reached behind the couch and plugged the laptop computer into the electrical socket.
"You've let the battery run down," Palvit told his sister, whose mouth was hanging open in surprise. "If you'll let it charge for a few hours, it should run perfectly fine."
"How did you learn so much about computers?" Niamh asked.
"I may struggle in math, but I get excellent grades in computer science," said Palvit. "I can tutor you sometime, if you'd like."
"I would appreciate that," Niamh replied. "I guess I'm not the genius I thought I was. Maybe I should spend less time bragging and more time listening."
"That is the smartest thing you've said all day, sis," laughed Palvit.
