A child is to receive a dose of 0.5 teaspoon of cough medicine every 4 hours. If the bottle contains 96 ​doses, how many days will the medicine​ last?

This may look complicated, but its actually fairly easy. Let me show you how its done:

The question, say that 0.5 of a teaspoon is how much 1 dose is, tho this doesn't really matter when it comes to getting the answer.

What you want to focus on is how many doses per day, and the total amount of doses per bottle.

Since a child takes 4 doses per day, and there are 96 doses, then to find how many days it will last, you will just divide the total amount of doses, and the amount of doses per day taken:

96/4 = 24

The bottle will last 24 days.
