To turn 2 1/2 into a normal fraction you need to multiply 2 and 2 ao it will be 2x2 and then you add the 1 which gets you 5.You keep the denominator and the fraction is now 5/2.Dividing fractions is the same as multiplying fractions so all you have to do is flip 1/3 and now it us 3/1 then you turn the division symbol into a multiplication symbol and multiply both numbers.5x3 = 15 and 2x1 = 2 so now you have 15/2 and if you wanted to simplyfy it you need to see how many times 2 can go into 15.2 can go into 15 7 times because 2 x 7 = 15 and if we multiply 2 x 8 it will be 16 which would be too much.We have 1 number left over since we were 1 number behind so we put 1 as our numerator and keep 2 as out denominator so now we have 7 1/2.
