Answer:

Explanation:

2 1/2 +9/10 =

2 and 1/2 to get this to its improper fraction

multiply the denominator and the whole number then add the numerator .

this will become the numerator of the improper fraction over the original denominator

2x2=4 +1 =5

5/2

5/2+9/10=

find a common denominator so you can add the fractions together

common denominator is 10

multiply 5/2 by 5/5

25/10+9/10 =

add 34/10 is your answer

in its proper fraction form how many times does 10 go into 34 ?

3 times

3x10=30

the whole number will be 3

34-30 is 4

so the proper fraction is now 3 4/10

4/10 can be simplified by 2

2/5, since 4 divided by 2 is 2 and 10 divided by 2 is 5

3 2/5

improper 34/10

proper 3 2/5
