7. Define "laissez-faire" and explain why reformers were against this

Step-by-step explanation:

Laissez-faire is the belief that things should be left alone to do what they will. Reformers were against this because in order to attempt to reform the corruption in businesses and labor laws they would have to interfere in some way which is basically the opposite of laissez-faire. They wanted to advocate social reform by enacting new policies, giving more power to labor unions and having more government interference.
