Explanation:

14y + (37)/(5) - 8(2y - 1)

BODMAS:

We deal with the brackets first

8(2y - 1)

we multiply everything in the brackets with 8

- 8 * 2y = - 16y

- 8 * - 1 = 8

14y + (37)/(5) - 16y + 8

Let's bring the like-terms together by rearranging the question

14y - 16y + 8 + (37)/(5)

14y - 16y = - 2y

8 + (37)/(5) = 15.4

Answer

- 2y + 15.4
