a^2+b^2=c^2. This is where a and b are the 2 legs of the triangle and c is the hypotenuse. You know where the hypotenuse is because it will always be opposite of the right angle.

So in this triangle, a would be 4 and b would be 8. (a and b can be interchangeable).


(4)^2+(8)^2=c^2


16+64=c^2


80=c^2


√(80) =c
