1. "At their peak" I believe this means at one's peak in life, for example most say they "peaked" in High School. 2. "Got wind of it" I think this means that someone got a bit of a "taste of their own medicine" as one would say, or a bit of an understanding to one's situation. "Let the cat out of the bag" This could mean something similar to "spill the beans" basically asking one to share information on a topic.
