In a hypotonic solution, why do red blood cells burst whereas plant cells enlarge without bursting?

Answer:

plant cells have a vacuole that stores sap, in hypotonic solution this vacuole can store this solution and the plant cell has a cell wall and a membrane, the cell wall holds the plant cell together whilst the animal cell doesn't have any of these.
