Oki Doki! What you need to do is change the two numbers (2, 1 and 5/6) into better numbers to work with. Since you need the same denominator (number on the bottom), it's best if both of those numbers are sixths. 2 would change to 12/6, and 1 and 5/6 would change to 11/6. then you can go on to subtract the two numbers.

As for how I got 11/6, I multiplied the whole number, 1, by the denominator giving me six and then I added the numerator to that. Finally, I put it all over 6. I hope that's not confusing.
