1. Distribute the -2 through the parentheses

-2(x + 4) = -2x - 8

2. Combine like terms ( 6 plus -8)

6 - 2x - 8 ≤ 8

-2 - 2x ≤ 8

3. Move the constant to the right-hand side and change its sign

-2x ≤ 8 + 2

4. Combine like terms

-2x ≤ 8 + 2

-2x ≤ 10

5. Divide on both sides

-2x /-2= cancels out ≤ 10/-2 = -5

x ≥ -5
