2 | x -5 | = 6 add 4 to both sides
|x-5| = 3 divide both sides by 2
Absolute value has 2 answers
First, solve it normally add 5 to both sides and get x = 8
Second set the whole thing negative, so you would get -x +5 = 3
Then subtract 5 from both sides -x = -2
X=2
