since the triangles are similar then the ratios of corresponding sides are in proportion , that is


(BC)/(DF) =
(AC)/(EF) ( substitute values )


(BC)/(7.5) =
(8)/(12) ( cross- multiply )

12 BC = 60 ( divide both sides by 12 )

BC = 5
