Please Hurry, I am Taking the test

Focus in on paragraphs 3 and 4 to answer this question.

Select two choices from the text that give information about the pressure that Captain Telemach is experiencing at this point in the story.

He had spent vast amounts of time and energy to find talented artisans, scientists, builders, all the people who could help set up a new society. But first he had to convince all those people to take a chance on an unknown future and leave Earth forever, which was even harder. Now the sense of responsibility he felt for them all was enormous, as if he carried the burden of each life on his back. He had once told his daughter, “I know how Atlas felt, weary of carrying the world around but afraid to let it drop.”

No one, not even the captain, knew if their desperate mission would ultimately fail or succeed. But one thing was certain: Earth had become too toxic to sustain more than the simplest forms of life. The great dying off of species was well underway there, and within their lifetime, earthbound humans would become extinct. The captain had taken a calculated risk to leave the poisoned planet that once was home and try to find a new place to inhabit. The people on the ship were being given a chance, a very small chance, and the captain could feel his passengers were beginning to lose hope. The possibility of water on this new planet gave them all a reason to believe that they might be okay after all.
