PLEASE HELP ME!

Going into the final exam, which will count as two tests, Sharon has test scores of 77, 84, 72,65, and 96. What score does Sharon need on the final in order to have an average score of 80 ?

Sharon has taken 5 tests so far, and the final will make that 7, since it counts as 2 tests. If her average is 80 then her total score on all tests must be 80 x 7 = 560.

So far she has scored a total of 77 + 84 + 72 + 65 + 96 = 394

She must therefore score

560 - 394 = 166

on the "double" final.

Her percentage score on the final must be 166/2 = 83.
