Heroism is the act of selflessly putting others before oneself, displaying bravery and courage in the face of adversity, and inspiring others through noble actions and deeds.
My definition of heroism is similar to Ponyboy's definition in "The Outsiders" where he defines a hero as someone who is "different" and "does things nobody else would think of doing." However, my definition also emphasizes the aspect of putting others before oneself and inspiring others through noble actions, whereas Ponyboy's definition focuses more on the uniqueness and bravery of the individual. Both definitions emphasize the bravery and courage of a hero, but my definition also highlights the impact that a hero can have on others and society as a whole.
There you go :)
